So we saw Radiohead...
a few nights ago and I haven't posted about it here.
Well it was amazing, Tom and I got in early while the band were still rehearsing and got to hear their brand new song 'Videotape' being performed to an empty hall. My parents had got us in before everyone else because they work at the apollo as medics and my Dad said the last time he saw that look on my face was when he first took me to the cinema and I saw the big screen with a giant bugs bunny running across it.
After they finished the rehearsal they all started to leave the stage except for Ed who stayed on and played this amazingly atmospheric guitar solo, he was probably just messing about but it sounded incredible.
The concert itself was unreal, we were front and centre and so close that they could have reached out and touched us if they had wanted. It was all so vivid and real after years of watching them on a computer monitor they were suddenly in front of me being lit up demon like in seizure inducing flashes of red during The National Anthem.
The set was a great mix of new and old and a few great remarks from Thom during I Want None Of This towards a rude heckler who was told to "Shut up you cunt".
Jonny's kaos pad had a fault during the closing Everything In It's Right Place which was shame but it was amusing seeing the roadies crawling around all his equipment trying to fix it.
After the show we were waiting in the foyer with our newly purchased posters, my parents had to hand in medical reports so we were allowed to wait there after all the other fans had been asked to leave, and too my amazement Jonny and Colin came strolling out from where we had just came and walked right by us, of course we cheered and waved and we even got a peace sign from Colin as they headed up the stairs to the bar.
All in all, the best night of my life.
